To Tug the Heartstrings, Music Must First Tickle the Brain – NYTimes.com.
Interesting!
I realize it goes without saying but it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here. So long, in fact, that I considered not updating the domain when prompted to. But something made me keep it and I’m glad I did.
It’s just been such a frigging rotten winter. This year’s winter has cast a pall of depression and ineptitude on many of us Berkshire-ites, making our hands and brains weak from lack of sunlight and shoveling the frozen, white shiat.
It’s made me far too weak and weary for blog posts in addition to everything else. “Everything else” has kept me really busy and, in many cases, has brought me a lot of joy.
For one thing, my second son Samuel was born in July 2010, which means he’s coming up on nine months old now. Yeah – I know! And Elliot is near 5 now. Which is crazy. And I have a new job, in Pittsfield; on the job since August. And a few other big and several other little bits of news to share. Like, I’ve been trying to be consistent on how many spaces I type between sentences.
For now, I must away again. But I’ll return soon.

This is inspiring me to pick up a copy of “The Phantom Tollbooth” for Elliot. I think my improvised “Monkey Vs. Robot” epics are running out of steam.
