I’m posting this from my iPad. Looks like WordPress has done some work on their app, which I found unusable before. Much better now.

Not bad, not bad.

Seriously. I would never do anything ever like this. Ever.

I realize it goes without saying but it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here. So long, in fact, that I considered not updating the domain when prompted to. But something made me keep it and I’m glad I did.
It’s just been such a frigging rotten winter. This year’s winter has cast a pall of depression and ineptitude on many of us Berkshire-ites, making our hands and brains weak from lack of sunlight and shoveling the frozen, white shiat.
It’s made me far too weak and weary for blog posts in addition to everything else. “Everything else” has kept me really busy and, in many cases, has brought me a lot of joy.
For one thing, my second son Samuel was born in July 2010, which means he’s coming up on nine months old now. Yeah – I know! And Elliot is near 5 now. Which is crazy. And I have a new job, in Pittsfield; on the job since August. And a few other big and several other little bits of news to share. Like, I’ve been trying to be consistent on how many spaces I type between sentences.
For now, I must away again. But I’ll return soon.

Posting from my iPad, cause I’m a showoff.
Sooooo much news lately. Lex is ready (way more than ready) to give birth to our second son any moment now, it’s been in the 90′s, high 80′s for like two weeks now (seems like it – hard for Lexy Lou) and I have potentially big news coming after a meeting scheduled for early next week. Swinging times!
Oh yeah: I was recently in a fine production at Main Street Stage of a show called The Baltimore Waltz, which was a hoot and a real gem of a show and experience. I’ll post photos here soon, and update my neglected Gigs section.
Till then, my friends …

Chinglish
“For English speakers with subpar Chinese skills, daily life in China offers a confounding array of choices,” Andrew Jacobs of The New York Times reports from Shanghai. “At banks, there are machines for ‘cash withdrawing’ and ‘cash recycling.’ The menus of local restaurants might present such delectables as ‘fried enema,’ ‘monolithic tree mushroom stem squid,’ and a mysterious thirst-quencher known as ‘The Jew’s Ear Juice.’ Those who have had a bit too much monolithic tree mushroom stem squid could find themselves requiring roomier attire: extra-large sizes sometimes come in ‘fatso’ or ‘lard bucket’ categories. These and other fashions can be had at the clothing chain known as Scat.”

Update – NYTimes.com has a great slideshow: A Sampling of Chinglish
